Long-Term Care Nurse - Living Center
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate nurses to join the PRN pool of our long-term care team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care and possess a variety of skills that enhance their ability to provide high-quality medical services. This role involves working in a long-term care setting, where you will be responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to residents across different age groups and medical conditions.

Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive nursing care to residents, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
Monitor patient vital signs and report any significant changes to the healthcare team.
Perform procedures such as IV insertion, catheterization, and phlebotomy as needed.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized resident care plans.
Educate residents and families on health management, medication administration, and post-discharge instructions.
Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Assist in emergency situations by utilizing critical care skills and knowledge of acute pain management.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to KDADS standards.

Candidates should possess a diverse skill set that includes but is not limited to:
Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Point Click Care.
Experience in various nursing specialties including geriatrics, hospice & palliative medicine, and internal medicine.
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation.
Familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding and CPT coding for accurate medical documentation.
Competence in performing physical examinations and resident assessments.
Ability to manage complex cases including those involving developmental disabilities or chronic illnesses.
Strong communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
