St. Luke Emergency Room

St. Luke Hospital offers a 24/7 Emergency Department. We provide care to all patients from newborn to geriatric.

The department is staffed with RN's who are certified in ACLS (advanced cardiac life support). Many of the RN's are also certified in PALS (pediatric advanced life support), TNCC (trauma nurse core course) and ENPC (emergency nurse pediatric course).

Our Emergency Department has 24/7 physician coverage by the local medical staff of St. Luke Medical Clinic.

Emergency care is supported by Marion County's ambulance service which staffs 24/7 BLS (basic life support) certified personnel.

St. Luke Hospital provides an onsite helipad to aid in rapid air transfer if needed. Air transfers provided by LifeTeam, Eagle Med and Life Star of Kansas.

St. Luke Hospital is a Level IV Trauma Center designated by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.

Avera eEmergency

St. Luke is proud to announce the addition of Avera eEmergency services.

At the push of a button, local physicians and emergency room staff have access, 24/7, to physicians who specialize in emergency medicine.

Local physicians, advanced-practice providers or nurses have immediate access to support for complex emergency cases, such as heart attack, stroke, respiratory distress or traumatic injury.

eEmergency staff do not "take over" for local providers, rather, they offer another set of eyes on the patient at a critical time, and perhaps another set of hands in arranging for transport care if needed.

eEmergency supports patient care in several ways:

Availability of physician-led emergency care 24 hours a day, regardless of location
Streamlined access to specialists, leading to improved outcomes
Activation of emergency transport teams as early as possible
Support when the local facility experiences multiple emergency cases at once
Fewer unnecessary transfers
Assurance to patients and families that specialty consultation is available, close to home
