Certified Dietary Manager - Dietary Service
The dietary manager ensures quality food for the Critical Access Hospital and Long-Term Care Facility. This position will direct and assist the preparation and serving of regular meals and therapeutic diets, order food and supplies, maintains department and equipment in sanitary condition, and ensures smooth operation with other St. Luke departments. Managing departmental budgetary guidelines, policies and procedures, and staff supervision are some of the functions of the dietary manager.

The Dietary Manager shall work with facility nursing departments, medical staff, and the facility's contracted dietician to ensure diet orders and care plans are received and communicated to department staff regularly. All long-term care and hospital regulations must be complied with according to Federal and State regulations.

In addition, this position is responsible for the supervision of no more than 20 staff members. The manager is expected to make available a staffing schedule, education for food safety, patient safety, and customer service for all department staff.

St. Luke Hospital and Living Center is an acute care facility licensed for 10 beds and long-term care facility licensed for 32 beds. This includes meals for patients, residents, visitors, employees and home health clients. If the dietary manager does not possess a certification from ANFP or the equivalent, they must enroll in the program within an agreed upon timeline.

Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must for this position. Leadership and ability to supervise personnel is expected. The right candidate must be in good mental and physical condition to execute the basic dietetic principles, food sanitation, and food service operation as required. This position is benefit-eligible and is budgeted for 40 hours per week with a varying schedule based on staffing needs.
