St. Luke Laboratory

St. Luke Laboratory provides services to inpatients, outpatients, residents, home care and several clinics, including family practice physicians, an oncologist, a urologist, a surgeon and four nursing homes.

The Laboratory Department provides the physician with accurate and timely test results to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of illness and disease. The services provided by our laboratory are services routinely ordered by the Medical Staff and other licensed Physicians. The services provided will be designed to cause as little discomfort as possible to the patient. These services will be provided in an environment that is safe and efficient, and performed by a professional and qualified laboratory staff.

We have Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Serology and Blood Bank Departments. We collect Microbiology specimens, but those samples are sent to our reference laboratory. We perform approximately 30,000 procedures annually. Recently added tests include BNP (used for diagnosis and monitoring of Congestive Heart Failure) and D-Dimer (rule-out PE & DVT).

The Laboratory Department provides routine testing services between the hours of 6 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday. All services provided outside these specified hours are addressed by on-call staff as the need arises. We provide 24 hour on-call staffing every day of the year.
